Tomato-Cheese Bread

Ingredients

  • 4 (1/2-inch thick) Italian bread slices
  • 1 Tbsp. dry white wine
  • 1 Tbsp. Dijon mustard
  • 4 (1 oz.) mozzarella cheese slices
  • 1 medium tomato, sliced
  • 1 Tbsp. chopped fresh basil
  • 1 tsp. freshly ground pepper

Directions

  1. Place bread slices on a lightly greased baking sheet.
  2. Broil 5 inches from heat (with electric oven door partially open) 30 seconds on each side or until lightly toasted.
  3. Brush 1 side of each bread slice with wine. Spread with mustard. Top with cheese, tomato, and onion. Sprinkle with basil and pepper.
  4. Broil 2 minutes.
