Gourmet Chocolate-Chip Cookies

Ingredients
- 2 cups butter or margarine, softened
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 cups light brown sugar, packed
- 4 large eggs, slightly beaten
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 4 cups flour
- 5 cups oatmeal, dry
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 24 oz semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 8-oz chocolate bar, grated
- 3 cups walnuts, chopped

Preheat oven to 375°F.

In a large bowl, cream together butter, sugar and brown sugar.

Add eggs and vanilla.

In a separate bowl, combine flour, oatmeal, salt, baking powder and baking soda, and mix well.

Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture, blending well (batter will be stiff).

Stir in the chocolate chips, grated chocolate bar and nuts.

Roll dough into golf-ball-sized balls and place 2 inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet.

Bake for 6 to 7 minutes.

Remove to wire racks to cool.

Store in an airtight container.
