Stone-Ground Grits with Cheddar Cheese

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups grits, stone-ground
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 3 3/4 cups milk
  • 2 cups grated White cheddar
  • 3 3/4 cups water
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne

Directions

  1. In a deep. heavy-bottomed pot, combine grits with the milk, water and salt. Place over medium heat and cook, stirring often, for 45 minutes. Stir in cheddar and cayenne.
