Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups grits, stone-ground
- 2 tsp salt
- 3 3/4 cups milk
- 2 cups grated White cheddar
- 3 3/4 cups water
- 1/2 tsp cayenne

In a deep. heavy-bottomed pot, combine grits with the milk, water and salt. Place over medium heat and cook, stirring often, for 45 minutes. Stir in cheddar and cayenne.
