Village Salad with Grilled Pita Bread AND Greek Meatballs in Wine Sauce

Ingredients
- Salad:
- 3 vine-ripe tomatoes, chunked
- 1 medium red onion, sliced thin
- 1/2 seedless cucumber, chunked
- 1 small red pepper, chunked
- 1 small green pepper, chunked
- 1/2 cup chopped parsley
- 1/2 lb feta, sliced
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 3 tbsp red wine vinegar
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- salt and pepper
- Pita breads
- Meatballs:
- 3/4 lb ground lamb
- 3/4 lb ground beef
- 1 small yellow onion, minced
- chopped parsley
- salt and pepper
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup dry white wine
- 1/2 lemon

Salad:

Combine vegetables and parsley in a large bowl. Rest feta on top of salad. Combine oil, vinegar and oregano in a mason jar and shake to combine. Pour over salad and cheese. Season with salt and pepper. Serve with grilled pita bread.

Meatballs:

In a large bowl, combine meats, onion, parsley, salt and pepper. Melt butter into oil in pan and roll meat mixture into meatballs. Saute in pan 10-12 minutes, browning on all sides.

Deglaze pan with wine and allow it to reduce by half, 1-2 minutes. Remove pan from heat, squeeze lemon juice over meatballs in skillet and serve.
