Sweet ‘n’ Hot Green Beans and Carrots

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup white wine vinegar
- 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. dried crushed red pepper
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1/2 lb. fresh green beans, trimmed
- 1/2 lb. carrots, cut into 4 x 1/2-inch strips
Directions
- Whisk together sugar and vinegar until sugar dissolves. Stir in red pepper and garlic, cove and let stand 4 hours.
- Cook green beans and carrot in boiling water 1 minute; drain. Plunge into ice water to stop cooking process; drain.
- Pour vinegar mixture over vegetables, tossing to coat. Let stand 1 hour before serving.
