Garlic Grits

Ingredients
- 2 cups grits
- 2 quarts water
- 3 tsp. salt
- 6 oz. American cheese, grated
- 3 cloves garlic pressed
- 1 stick butter
- 3 eggs, slightly beaten
- 2 cups milk
- grated Parmesan cheese
Directions
- Cook grits in boiling, salted water until tender, but still pourable.
- Remove from heat; add cheese, garlic and butter, stirring until melted.
- When cool add eggs and milk. Pour into two 2-quart casseroles that have been well greased. Bake in 325 degree oven for 50 to 60m minutes.
- Remove from oven; sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and bake for 10 more minutes. Serve immediately. (This may be prepared ahead. Keep refrigerated and bake before serving.)
