Anise Biscuits with Balsamic Strawberries

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter softened
- 3/4 cups sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 Tbsp. baking powder
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1/4 cup milk
- 3/4 tsp. anise extract
- Balsamic Strawberries:
- 1 (16 oz.) container fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 Tbsp. balsamic vinegar
- Garnish: Whipped cream
Directions
- Beat butter at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy; gradually add sugar, beating until blended well after each addition.
- Combine flour, baking powder, and salt; add to butter mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Beat at low speed just until blended after each addition. Stir in extract. Spoon batter into s lightly greased 13 x9-inch pan.

Bakes at 350 degrees for 22 minutes; cool 10 minutes. Cut biscuits with a 2 1/2-inch round or square cutter. Cool completely on wire racks. Split biscuits and serve with Balsamic Strawberries. Garnish, if desired.

Balsamic Strawberries:
- Combine all ingredients; let stand 1 hour at room temperature.
