Ingredients
- 1(9-inch) unbaked pie crust
- 5 Tbsp. butter
- 3 eggs
- 2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cane syrup OR sorghum syrup OR dark corn syrup
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar OR brown sugar
- 1/4 cup cream
- 1/4 cup tart jelly such as crab apple or red currant (some recipes call for blackberry)
Directions
- Heat oven to 350 degrees. Line a 9-inch pie plate with pie crust.
- In a small saucepan, melt the butter; set aside.
- In a medium bowl, whisk eggs until light in color. Add the flour, syrup, melted butter, sugar and cream and whisk until thoroughly combined.
- Spread jelly in the bottom of the pie crust. Pour egg mixture over jelly. Bake 35 to 45 minutes or until filling is set in the center.
