Sausage and Peppers with Parmesan Cheese Grits

Ingredients
- 1 (19 oz.) pkg. sweet Italian sausage
- 3 red, yellow, or green bell peppers, cut into strips
- 1 large sweet onion cut in half and thinly sliced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 to 2 tsp. Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- Parmesan Cheese Grits:
- 1 cup grits
- 4 cups water
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 1 (5 oz.) pkg. shredded Parmesan cheese
- Garnish: shredded Parmesan cheese
Directions
- Remove sausage casings, and discard. Cook sausage and next 7 ingredients in a large skillet over medium-high heat, stirring until sausage crumbles and is no longer pink and vegetables are tender. Serve over Parmesan Cheese Grits; garnish, if desired.

Parmesan Cheese Grits:
- Cook grits according to package directions, using 4 cups water. Stir in salt, butter and Parmesan cheese.
