Ingredients
- 2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 eggs, separated
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 1 3/4 cups sweet milk
- 1/3 cup melted shortening
- 3/4 cup chopped pecans
Directions
- Sift flour, baking soda, sugar and salt together.
- Beat egg yolks, vinegar, and milk together.
- Add dry ingredients, melted shortening and pecans.
- Stir until batter is smooth.
- Beat egg whites until stiff but not dry and fold into batter.
- Pour batter on heated iron to about of inch of edge.
- Bake 3 to 4 minutes or until waffles stop steaming.
- Serve with butter and syrup.
