Sour Cream Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/8 tsp. baking soda
  • dash of salt (necessary)
  • 1/8 tsp. sugar
  • 2-1/4 tsp. vegetable shortening, chilled
  • 2 Tbs. light sour cream
  • 2-1/4 tsp. milk
  • 1/4 cup plus 2 Tbs. orange marmalade

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F. Sift first 5 ingredients together in a mixing bowl. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse meal. Add sour cream and milk and stir just until mixture forms a sticky soft dough. Measure heaping tablespoonfuls of dough and drop on a buttered baking sheet. Bake 15-18 minutes, or until golden. Serve with marmalade.
