Red Cabbage and Apples

Ingredients

  • 1 medium head red cabbage, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 2 Granny Smith apples
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper

Directions

  1. Cook cabbage and onion in hot oil in large nonstick skillet or Dutch oven over medium-low heat, attiring occasionally 30 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, peel and chop apples; toss with lemon juice. Stir apple mixture, sugar, salt and pepper into cabbage mixture. Cook, stirring occasionally, 30 minutes.
