Ingredients
- 8 cups seedless watermelon chunks
- Juice of 2 limes
- 1/3 cup sugar
Directions
-
Cut the watermelon into wedges. Cut off the rind and chop the watermelon into large chunks.
-
Next, slice 2 limes in half and squeeze out the juice. Add the lime juice to a blender. Add the sugar. Pack the blender as full of watermelon chunks as you can, then blend it up until it’s totally pureed.
-
Pour out about half the mixture into a bowl, then add the rest of the watermelon and blend it up.
-
Pour all of the mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish. Cover it with plastic wrap and freeze it for a good 2-3 hours. Remove the pan from the freezer and gently scrape the top layer with a spoon. Then, once you get close to the less frozen middle, cover the pan again and return it to the freezer for another couple of hours.
-
Repeat this process. Continue until it’s all scraped.
-
Serve the granita in a pretty glass.
