Ingredients
- 1 lb cucumbers, thinly sliced
- 1 cup thinly sliced sweet onions
- 3 tbsp kosher salt
- 1/2 cup cider vinegar
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp mustard seeds
- 1 tsp celery seeds
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
Directions

Combine cucumbers, onions and salt in a bowl; cover with ice and let sit for 1 hour. Rinse and drain cucumbers and onions.

Boil vinegar, sugar, brown sugar, mustard seeds, celery seeds, pepper flakes, and turmeric in a saucepan over medium heat until sugar dissolves.

Pour vinegar mixture over cucumbers and onions in a large bowl or jar, submerging them; chill at least 4 hours.
