Herbed Meatballs

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup frozen chopped onion
- 1 tsp. minced garlic
- 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1 1/2 cups no-sugar-added, low sodium tomato pasta sauce
- 1/2 lb. ground turkey breast
- 1/2 Tbsp. fennel seeds
- 2 Tbsp. plain bread crumbs
- 2 Tbsp. balsamic vinegar
- Salt and ground black pepper
Directions
- Place onion, garlic, mushrooms and pasta sauce in a medium skillet and bring to a simmer. Cover and cook gently for 5 minutes while you prepare the meatballs.
- Mix turkey, fennels seeds, bread crumbs and balsamic vinegar. Roll into small meatballs, about 1 1/2-incjhes in diameter. You should have

8 meatballs.. Add meatballs to the skillet and simmer, covered, 5 minutes. Turn meatballs over and cook, covered another 3 minutes or until meatballs reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees. Taste sauce and add salt and pepper, if needed. Serve meatballs with lentils.
