Grilled ham and Cheese “French Toast”

Ingredients

  • 4 tsp. all-fruit peach jam
  • 8 slices whole-grain bread
  • 3 oz. thinly sliced provolone cheese
  • 4 tsp. honey mustard
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 Tbsp. 1% milk
  • 1 Tbsp. canola oil, divided use

Directions

  1. Spread 1 tsp. jam over each of 4 bread sliced. Top each evenly with the ham and cheese. Spread 1 tsp. mustard over each of the 4 remaining bread slices. Place firmly on the ham and cheese; set aside.
  2. Whisk together the eggs and milk in a large bowl. Dip the sandwiches in the egg mixture, turning carefully to coat.
  3. Heat half the oil in a large skillet over medium-high. Add the sandwiches and cook 3 to 4 minutes or until the bottoms are golden brown. Add the remaining oil, flip the sandwiches, and cook 3 to 4 minutes or until the bottoms are golden and cheese melts. Slice and serve warm.
