Hoosier Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 (9-inch) unbaked pie crust
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup half-and-half
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • Freshly grated nutmeg for garnish

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Line 9-ich pie plate with pie crust.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk the sugar with the flour, and then stir in the half-and-half, cream and vanilla. Pour into pie crust, and bake 45 minutes or until the filling is lightly set but jiggles when tapped on the side. Transfer the pie to a rack and let cool completely. Grate nutmeg over the top just before serving.
