Ziti with Swiss Chard and Walnuts

Ingredients
- 1 lb. pkg. ziti
- 2 Tbsp. olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1 1/2 lbs. trimmed and sliced Swiss chard
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan
- 2 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 cup ricotta
Directions
- Cook ziti according to package directions. Drain and reserve 1 cup cooking water. meanwhile, heat olive oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat; add garlic and cook 1 minute . Stir in Swiss chard and 1/4 tsp. each salt and pepper, cook 8 minutes, until tender. Toss pasta with chard, walnuts, Parmesan, olive oil, remaining salt and enough cooking water to create a sauce.

Stir in 1/2 cup ricotta.

Variation: Substitute broccoli rabe for chard and diced smoked mozzarella for ricotta.
