Angel Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 5 cups self-rising flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 2 cups buttermilk

Directions

  1. Dissolve yeast In warm water. Cut shortening into dry ingredients all at once. This makes a stiff dough. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Roll amount of dough needed on lightly floured board. Cut out biscuits and place on greased pan. Bake 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  2. Refrigerated dough will keep for up to two weeks.
