Angel Flake Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 8 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3 Tbsp. granulated sugar
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 1 cup shortening, melted
  • 1 (0.25 oz.) pkg. yeast, dissolved in 1/4 cup warm water

Directions

  1. Sift dry ingredients together. Add the buttermilk, melted shortening and yeast. Put in refrigerator for 12 hours, punching down if it rises.
  2. Roll out on floured board and use as desired. keep remaining dough in refrigerator and use as needed.
  3. Bake in lightly greased pan 15-20 minutes at 350 degrees. You can bake 1 or 2 biscuits, or the whole thing if you wish.
