Ingredients
- 1 pkg. hot roll mix
- Filling:
- 1/2 an 8 oz. can almond paste (1/2 cup)
- 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter or margarine
- 1/4 cup orange marmalade
- 1 egg
- 1 Tbsp. flour
- Honey Glaze:
- 3 Tbsp. honey
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 2 Tbsp. cream
- 3 Tbsp. sliced almonds
Directions
- Prepare hot roll mix following label directions.

Let rise until double in bulk.
- Prepare filling: Combine almond paste and butter in bowl; beat until smooth; stir in marmalade, egg and flour.
- Roll dough on lightly floured surface to a 14-inch circle. Fit into a 6- or 8-inch skillet, letting edges of dough hang over filling to center , pleating dough into big folds and leaving a small opening in center. Cover pan with towel; let rise in a warm place; away from draft, 30 minutes, or until double in bulk.
- Bake in moderately hot oven, 375 degrees. 25 minutes.
- Meanwhile, prepare Honey Glaze: Combine honey, sugar, butter and cream in small saucepan; heat, stirring constantly, until sugar melts and mixture comes to boiling. Cook over low heat, without stirring, 2 minutes.
- Brush half of glaze over top of kuchen; bake 5 minutes. Stir almonds into remaining glaze, spoon mixture over kuchen. Bake 5 minutes longer, until kuchen is golden brown. Place piece of foil under pan to catch spills.
- Cool in pan on wire rack 10 minutes. Remove from pan; cool on wire rack. Serve warm.
