Alice Mae’s Country Fried Okra Salad

Ingredients

  • Vegetable oil, for deep frying
  • 1 (16 oz.) pkg. frozen breaded okra
  • 2 medium tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 bunch green onions, chopped
  • 6 slices bacon, fried until crisp, crumbled
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 Tbsp. white vinegar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

Directions

  1. Heat oil in a large, heavy pot. Deep-fry okra as directed on package. Drain.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the fried okra, tomatoes, green onion and bacon, mix well.
  3. Ina separate bowl whisk together remaining ingredients. Add to okra mixture and toss to combine. Serve immediately.
