Almond Cherry Cookie Tart

Ingredients

  • 1 dough wheel from(15 oz.) pkg. refrigerated pie crusts
  • Filling:
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/2 cup whipping cream
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 tsp. almond extract
  • 1 cup slivered almonds
  • 1 (6 oz.) jar (1/2 cup) maraschino cherries, drained and chopped

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 450 degrees. Prepare pie crust according to package directions for unfilled one-crust pie using 10 inch tart pan.
  2. Bake at 450 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Reduce heat to 375 degrees.
  3. In small bowl, combine brown sugar, flour, whipping cream, egg and almond extract; beat well. Stir in almonds and cherries. Pour into prebaked crust.
  4. Bake at 375 degrees for 40 to 435 minutes or until top is deep golden brown.
