Ann Landers’ Meatloaf

Ingredients

  • 2 lb. ground round
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups bread crumbs
  • 3/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tsp. Accent (MSG), optional
  • 1 envelope onion soup mix
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 2 strips bacon
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine beef, eggs, bread crumbs, ketchup, MSG, onion soup mix and water; mix until thoroughly combined. Transfer mixture to a 9 × 5 × 4-inch loaf pan.

  3. Lay bacon over top and then pour tomato sauce over. Bake 1 hour or until internal temperature reaches 160 degrees.
