‘American Buffalo’ Wings with NYPD Blue Cheese Dip

Ingredients

  • Wings:
  • 24 chicken wings, disjointed at tip
  • 1 stick butter, melted
  • 6 to 8 tsp. hot pepper sauce
  • 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 4 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • Blue Cheese Dip:
  • 1 6 oz. pkg. cream cheese
  • 1/3 cup sour cream
  • 2 Tbsp. mayonnaise
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. white pepper
  • 4 oz. blue cheese, crumbled

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Place wings in baking pan.

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine other ingredients. Coat wings on both sides. Bake for 45 minutes or until cooked through, basting frequently.

  3. Just before serving, pour remaining sauce over wings, and broil for approximately 1 minute to crisp skin.

  4. For Cheese Dip:

  5. In a bowl of a food processor, combine all ingredients except blue cheese. Process for about a minute, or until creamy, to mix; add blue cheese. Do not over process; dip should remain chunky. Spoon into a bowl, and refrigerate until ready to use.
