Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine
- 1 cup all=purpose flour
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. vinegar
- 5 to 6 medium cooking apples, peeled and cored
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- Powdered sugar (optional)
- Whipped cream (optional)
Directions

Cut butter into 1/2-inch pieces. Using knife blade attachment in food processor, add butter, 1 cup flour, 2 Tbsp. sugar and salt and process 10 to 15 seconds or until mixture resembles coarse meal.

With processor running, pour vinegar through food chute; process 15 to 20 seconds or until dough forms a ball.

Press pastry into bottom and 1 inch up sides of a 9 1/2-inch springform pan; set aside.

Cut apples into quarters. Position shredding blade in processor. Position apples in food chute; shred, applying firm pressure with food pusher.

Combine 3 cups shredded apples, 3/4 cup sugar, 2 Tbsp. flour and cinnamon; mix well.

Spoon apple mixture evenly into prepared pastry. Bake at 400 degrees for 45 minutes or until done. Cool; remove sides of pan. Sprinkle flan with powdered sugar, and top with whipped cream, if desired.
