Apple Maple Turnover

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup or maple-blended syrup
  • 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2 medium-size apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
  • 1 pkg. refrigerated crescent rolls

Directions

  1. Melt butter or margarine in a 10-inch pie plate in oven, while oven is beating.

  2. Stir in maple syrup and brown sugar until well blended. Arrange apple slices in overlapping rings in syrup.

  3. Spread crescent rolls into triangles and arrange overlapping triangles in pie plate over apples.

  4. Bake in moderate oven (350 degrees) 25 minutes, or until rolls are golden. Cool in pie plate on wire rack 5 minutes; loosen rolls from side of plate with a knife; invert plate onto pie plate. Top with whipped cream, if desired.
