Ingredients
- 2 lbs stew meat- not too lean
- 2 T oil
- 2 C water
- 1 T Worcestershire
- 1 clove garlic
- 1-2 bay leaves
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- salt
- pepper1/2 t paprika
- bit of allspice or cloves
- carrotscelery stalks
- I C marsala wine
- marjoram-dash
- 2-3 T cornstarch
Directions

Brown meat in oil: Add water, Worcestershire, garlic, bay leaves, onion, salt, sugar, pepper, paprika and allspice, Add marsala and marjoram.

Cover, simmer 1 1/2 hrs

Remove bay leaf and garlic..

Add carrots and celery, cover 30-40 min longer..

To thicken gravy, remove 2 C hot liquid. In a separate bowl, combine 1/4 C water and cornstarch until smooth. Mix with a little hot liquid and return mixture to pot. Stir and cook until bubbly
