Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup applesauce
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 2 eggs
- 3 Tbsp. milk
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
- 1 cup chopped pecans, divided
- 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
Directions

Combine first 5 ingredients in a large mixing bowl; heat at medium speed of electric mixer 1 minute. Set aside.

Combine flour, soda, baking powder, 1/2 tsp. cinnamon. salt and nutmeg; add to applesauce mixture, beating until smooth. Stir in 3/4 cup pecans.

Spoon batter into a greased and floured 9 × 5 × 3 inch loaf pan. Combine remaining pecans, brown sugar, and 1/2 tsp. cinnamon; sprinkle over batter, and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

Remove from oven, and cover loosely with foil; return to oven for 40 additional minutes. Uncover and cool 10 minutes in pan; remove from pan, and cool on wire rack.
