Apple Taffy Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. Betty Crocker SuperMoist yellow cake mix
  • 1 1/3 cups water
  • 1/3 cup margarine or butter, softened
  • 4 eggs
  • 3/4 cup graham cracker crumbs (about 10 squares)
  • 1 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 2 1/2 cups chopped pared apples (3 apples)
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour rectangle pa, 23 × 9 × 2 inches.

  2. Mix cake mix (dry), water, margarine, eggs, graham cracker crumbs and cinnamon in large bowl on low speed, scraping bowl frequently, 30 seconds.

  3. Beat on medium speed, scraping bowl occasionally, 2 minutes. Fold in apples. Pour into pan; sprinkle evenly with brown sugar.

  4. Bake until cake pulls away from sides of pan and wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean, 38 to 43 minutes; cool completely.
