Ingredients

  • 1 refrigerated pie crust (from 14.1 oz. pkg.)
  • 1 egg white, lightly beaten, divided use
  • 3/4 cup PLUS 1 tsp. granulated sugar, divided use
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 4 cups apples, peeled and thinly sliced (about 4 medium)

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 425 degrees. Line a 12-inch pizza pan with foil.

  2. Place the pie crust on the pizza pan. Press out any folds or creases. Brush crust with about 1/2 of egg white; set aside.

  3. In a large bowl, mix the 3/4 cup sugar, the cornstarch and cinnamon. Add apples and toss to coat. Spoon into center of crust, spreading to within 2 inches of edges. Fold 2-inch edge of crust up over apples, pleating or folding crust as needed. Brush crust with remaining egg white; sprinkle crust with 1 tsp. sugar.

  4. Bake 20 minutes or until apples are tender. Cool slightly before serving.
