Ginger Creams

Ingredients

  • Cookies:
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp soda
  • 1/2 tsp ginger
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup hot water
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp cloves
  • Frosting:
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 T butter, softened
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • dash salt
  • 2-3 T milk

Directions

  1. at oven to 375.

  2. Grease cookies sheets.

  3. In large bowl, combine sugar, water, molasses, butter and egg and blend well.

  4. Stir in remaining ingredients.

  5. Drop on cookies sheets.

  6. Bake 375 for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown.

  7. In small bowl, combine all frosting ingredients and beat until light and fluffy.

  8. Spread over cooled cookies.

  9. About 36 cookies.
