Parker House Dinner Rolls/Bread machine

Ingredients

  • 3 C flour
  • 3 T sugar
  • 1 1/2 t salt
  • 1/4 C instant potatoes
  • 3 T butter
  • 1 C milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 1/2 t instant active dry yeast
  • For filling, if use:
  • 2-21/2 T soft butter

Directions

  1. Place all ingredients in bread machine on dough cycle.

  2. About 10 minutes before end of second kneading cycle, check consistency of dough- add more flour or water as needed and let dough cycle finish.

  3. On lightly floured surface, roll dough into 16 balls

  4. Let rest 15 minutes, covered

  5. Crease each ball with icing spatula, deeply, and slightly off center

  6. Put into each roll 1/2 t of softened butter

  7. Fold smaller half of roll over larger half, trying to form a tight seal on top of roll

  8. Cover with plastic wrap

  9. Allow to rise for at least 1 hour-Don’t need to become too puffy

  10. Bake 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes

  11. If not eating immediately, allow to cool, and when slightly warm, place rolls in plastic baggie to keep soft
