Scotch Scones

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 T sugar
  • 1/2 cup raisins or chocolate chips
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp soda
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 3 T milk
  • 1 egg

Directions

  1. eheat 425.

  2. Stir first 6 ingredients until dough clings together.

  3. On well-floured surface, toss dough lightly until no longer sticky.

  4. Knead 12-15 times.

  5. Divide dough in half.

  6. Pat each ball of dough to a 6-inch circle with top slightly rounded.

  7. Brush surface with milk.

  8. Sprinkle with sugar.

  9. Cut each circle into 6 wedges.

  10. Place 2 inches apart on cookie sheet.

  11. Bake 10-12 minutes until golden brown.

  12. 12 scones
