Ingredients
- 2 lb. dried shallots
- 2 Tbsp. butter, melted
- 2 fresh apples, finely chopped
- 1 red pepper, finely chopped
- 1 green pepper, finely chopped
- 1 large red onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garli9c, chopped
- 1 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1 to 2 Tbsp. liquid smoke
- 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 4 Tbsp. red wine vinegar
- 1 Tbsp. coarsely ground black pepper
- 1/2 cup apple sauce
- 2 Tbsp. tomato paste or ketchup

In a saucepan, place dried shallots in 2 Tbsp. of melted butter to caramelize.

Combine the rest of the ingredients in a separate saucepan and cook 45 minutes over medium to low heat. Remove shallots from butter and mix butter into BBQ sauce.
