Holiday Spritz

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 1/2 tsp rum extract
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • Colored sugar

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375. Cream butter, confectioners’ sugar and salt until light and fluffy; beat in egg and rum extract. Gradually beat in flour.

  2. Using a cookie press fitted with a disk of your choice, press dough 1 inch apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Sprinkle with colored sugar.

  3. Bake until bottoms are light brown, 6-9 minutes. Cool on pans 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool.
