Ingredients
- 3/4 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
- 2 oz unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
- 1/4 tsp peppermint extract
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 cup mini semisweet chocolate chips
- Icing:
- 2 tbsp butter, softened
- 1 cup confectioners' sugar
- 1/4 tsp peppermint extract
- 1-2 tbsp milk
- 1-2 drops green food coloring
- 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 tsp shortening
Directions

Preheat oven to 375. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in cooled chocolate and extract. Gradually beat in flour. Stir in chips.

Drop dough by tablespoons onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake until firm, 5-7 minutes. Cool on wire racks.

Mix butter, sugar, extract and enough milk to achieve desired consistency. Tint green. Spoon over cookies.

Microwave chips and shortening; stir until melted. Drizzle over top.
