- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar

- 10 blackberries, rinsed and drained
- 2 Tbsp. granulated sugar
Directions

In a bowl, mix cornmeal, flour and baking powder.
-
In another bowl, beat to blend egg, brown sugar, buttermilk, and butter; stir into dry ingredients until evenly moistened.

Pour batter into a greased 8-inch cake or quiche pan. Gently press apricot halves, pitted-side up, decoratively into dough; put 1 berry in the hollow of each apricot.
-
Bake in 350 degree oven until kuchen feels firm to touch in center, 30 to 35 minutes; sprinkle with granulated sugar. Cool slightly, then cut into wedges.
