Apple Pie

Ingredients

  • 1/3 - 1/2 C Sugar
  • 1/4 C Flour
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp Nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp Salt
  • 8 C thinly sliced Apples
  • 2 Tbsp Butter

Directions

  1. eheat oven to 425.

  2. Mix sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, & salt in a large bowl.

  3. Stir in apples.

  4. Turn into pastry-lined pie plate.

  5. Dot with butter.

  6. Trim overhang edge of pastry to 1/2"

  7. Fold top pastry into 4ths, cut slits for steam

  8. Unfold top pastry over filling

  9. Trim overhang to 1"

  10. Fold and roll top edge under lower edge, pressing on rim to seal.

  11. Flute as desired.

  12. Cover edge with 3" strip of foil.

  13. Remove foil during last 15 minutes of baking.

  14. Bake 40-50 minutes or until crust is brown & juice begins to bubble through slits in crust.
