Asian Pork Burgers

Serves 8 people

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup finely chopped green pepper
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 Tbsp. hoisin sauce
  • 2 tsp. soy sauce
  • 1 1/2 tsp. seasoned salt
  • 1 tsp. minced garlic
  • 2 lb. ground pork
  • 8 pieces unsweetened slice pineapple
  • 8 bacon strips
  • 8 sesame seed hamburger buns, split

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the first six ingredients. Crumble pork over mixture and mix well. Shape into eight patties. Top each with a pineapple slice; wrap with a bacon strip, if grilling the burgers, coat grill rack with cooking spray before starting the grill.

  2. Grill burgers, covered, over medium heat or broil 4 inches from the heat for 6 to 8 minutes on each side or until a meat thermometer reads 160 degrees and juices run clear.

  3. Serve on buns.
