Asian Steak Salad

Cambodian inspired salad- add 1/2 cup each thinly sliced red bell pepper and cucumber for more crunch.

Serves 2 people

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. lime juice
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. Asian fish sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 small serrano chile, seeded, deveined, finely chopped (about 2 tsp.)
  • 1 (12 oz.) beef sirloin steak (1 to 1 1/2 inches thick)
  • 4 cups packed mixed salad greens
  • 1/2 cup coarsely chopped cilantro
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh mint

Directions

  1. Heat grill/ Whisk lime juice, fish sauce, sugar and chile in small bowl.

  2. Grill steak, covered, over medium heat or coals 5 to 10 minutes for medium-rare, turning once. Remove steak. Cover loosely with foil; let stand 10 minutes before cutting into 1/4-inch slices.

  3. Toss salad greens, cilantro and mint in large bowl with enough dressing to lightly coat. Top with steak.
