Asparagus Salad- Sweep the Graves Clean

Memorial Day picnic recipe for those who went to graveyards to tend to the graves on this day.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups water
  • 1 lb. asparagus, cut diagonally
  • 2 Tbsp. light soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. sesame seed oil
  • 1/4 tsp. sugar
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped fine

Directions

  1. Bring 4 cups water to a boil in saucepan.

  2. Drop in the asparagus. boil 1 minutes. Drain and rinse in cold water.

  3. mix light soy sauce, sesame seed oil, sugar, chopped garlic in a bowl. Pour over the asparagus.

  4. The dressing may be kept in covered jar in the refrigerator for a week. Do not freeze.
