Au Gratin Potatoes

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 cup minced onion
  • 1 Tbsp. minced garlic
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 2 1/2 cups cream
  • 10 medium potatoes, peeled, cut in 3/8 inch rounds
  • 2 Tbsp. Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups shredded Gruyere or Swiss cheese

Directions

  1. Place butter, onion, and garlic in medium saucepan; saute for 2 minutes.

  2. Whisk in cream until smooth. Simmer on low 2 to 3 minutes until thickened.

  3. Arrange potato rounds in a greased rectangular casserole dish. Reheat sauce on low. Blend in Parmesan cheese. Pour over potatoes. Cover.

  4. Bake on a tray at 400 degrees for 1 hour. Top with the gruyere cheese. Bake uncovered for 20 minutes or until cheese is bubbly.
