Ingredients
- 4 cups biscuit mix
- 1 tsp. ground sage
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 2 tsp. grated onion
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
Directions

Combine biscuit mix and sage in a medium-size bowl; cut in butter or margarine until mixture is crumbly. Add milk and grated onion; prepare, following label directions for rolled biscuits.

Divide into 18 pieces; roll each into a rope, 12 inches long, Braid each 3 ropes, pinching at ends to hold in place.

Place 3 braids, side by side, on a cookie sheet, shaping ends to an oval. Top with 2 more ropes for middle layer; place remaining on top. Brush all over with beaten egg.

Bake in moderate oven (375 degrees) 1 hour, or until golden. Serve warm.
