Ingredients
- 8 oz. whole-wheat pasta
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 4 garlic cloves, chopped
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 8 oz. Italian sausage
- 6 cups chopped kale
- 14 oz. can diced tomatoes
- 2 tbsp. pesto
- 1 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper
- 2 tbsp. Parmesan cheese
Directions

Combine pasta, onion, garlic and salt in a large pot. Add Italian sausage, crumbled. Add kale and diced tomatoes. Add pesto, Italian seasoning and red pepper.

Cook it up. Pour in 4 cups of water. Bring to a boil over high heat. Boil, stirring often, until the pasta is cook and the water has almost evaporated, 10-12 minutes. Let stand for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, before serving. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese before serving.
