Baked Beans with Pizazz

Ingredients
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 medium green pepper, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 2 Tbsp. salad oil
- 2 cans (1 lb. 12 oz.) baked beans
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- few drops red pepper sauce3 (optional)
- 1/4 cup honey
- Raw onion rings (optional)
Directions

Saute onion, green pepper and garlic in oil until soft but not brown. Combine with beans, ketchup, red pepper sauce and honey, in a two-quart casserole.

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Bake uncovered 45 minutes.

If desired, top with a few raw onion rings.

Main dish hint: Brown 1 lb. ground beef until it loses its red color and is crumbly. Drain off fat. Add to beans with sautéed vegetables and bake as above.
