Ingredients
- Brownies:
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate morsels
- 4 large eggs
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 1 cup flour
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- Frosting:
- 6 tbsp. unsalted butter, melted
- 1/3 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/4 cup whole milk
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
- Garnish: chopped peanuts
Directions
-
Preheat oven to 350. Line a 13×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper or foil, letting excess extent over sides of pan.
-
For brownies: In large microwavesafe bowl, place butter and chocolate. Microwave on high in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until mixture is melted and smooth. Let cool to room temp.
-
Add eggs to chocolate mixture, one at a time, whisking after each addition. Add sugar, vanilla, and salt, stirring well. Stir in flour and cocoa. Pour batter into prepared pan, smoothing top with a spatula. Rinse bowl.
-
Bake until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean, 22-25 minutes. Let cool completely in pan.
-
For frosting: In same bowl, stir together melted butter, peanut butter, milk, and vanilla until combined. Stir in confectioners’ sugar.
-
Remove brownies from pan. Pour frosting over brownies, spreading to edges with a spatula. Garnish with peanuts, if desired. Let frosting set for 1 hour. Cut into 2-inch squares. Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
