Baked (Shirred) Eggs

Serves 4 people

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • dash salt and pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. cream
  • 1/2 tsp. butter or margarine

Directions

  1. Butter 4 individual casseroles or heat-resistant custard cups.

  2. Break eggs one at a time into a saucer or small dish. Slice each egg into a casserole. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Top each egg with 1 Tbsp. cream and 1/4 tsp. butter.

  3. Bake at 325 degrees, uncovered, 12 to 20 minutes, depending upon firmness desired.

  4. Garnish, and serve in their individual casseroles.
