Ingredients
- 3 Tbsp. unsalted butter or margarine
- 2 pkg. (1 lb. each) frozen haddock fillets, partially thawed or: 2 lbs. fresh haddock fillets
- 1/2 tsp. paprika
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 3 tomatoes, chopped
- 1/2 cup dry white wine
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1/8 tsp. white pepper
- 1 Tbsp. chopped fresh dill
- or: 1 tsp. dillweed, crumbled

Melt butter or margarine in a small saucepan.

Preheat oven to moderate (350 degrees). Butter a 13 × 9 × 2-inch baking dish with part of the melted butter. Arrange haddock fillets in baking dish; sprinkle with paprika.

Saute onion and garlic in remaining butter for 2 minutes. Add tomatoes, wine, sugar and pepper; simmer, stirring often, for about 3 minutes.

Pour wine mixture over fish; sprinkle with chopped dill.

Bake, uncovered, for about 30 minutes or until fish flakes easily with a fork.
