Baked Italian Lasagna

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 3 Tbsp. parsley flakes
  • 1 Tbsp. basil
  • 3 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 cups tomatoes
  • 2 6 oz. cans tomato paste
  • 1 10 oz. pkg. lasagna noodles
  • 1 12 oz. carton ricotta or cottage cheese
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1.2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1 lb. mozzarella cheese

Directions

  1. Brown meat slowly; add garlic, 1 Tbsp. parsley flakes, basil, 1 1/2 tsp. salt, tomatoes and tomato paste. Simmer, stirring occasionally, for 45 minutes to 1 hour or until thick.

  2. Cook noodles until tender; drain rinse in cold water. Combine ricotta with eggs, remaining salt, pepper, remaining parsley flakes and 1/2 cup Parmesan.

  3. Place half the cheese mixture over noodles. Spread half the mozzarella cheese over cheese

  4. mixture and cover with half the meat mixture. Repeat layers and garnish with remaining Parmesan cheese.

  5. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes.
